Bright, dark red. Sappy, slightly reduced aromas of black raspberry and coffee bean. Juicy, spicy and on the lean side, with lovely cut to its flavors of spicy red fruits. Not a particularly fleshy wine but offers a subtle sweetness and considerable class. There was less millerandage in these 50-year-old vines than in the Poisets, notes Lachaux.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
